Dry Needling

Thought of as "the Western version of Acupuncture" dry needling is a treatment technique that involves inserting a fine needle into the muscle to release "knots" (trigger points). If performed accurately, it can help reduce the "tension" (tone) in overactive muscles which in turn can:

  • Improve joint range of motion
  • Reduce pain
  • Relieve pressure on surrounding structures, such as nerves and vessels

The physiotherapists at Prime Physiotherapy have specific training in Dry Needling. Your therapist can discuss if dry needling is appropriate for your condition.
